The second breakfast of our stay at the Metropolitan hotel was had at GLOW. GLOW is located on the 2nd floor, adjacent to the COMO Shambala Urban Escape (or what might also be called the 'Spa' ... but what an amazing spa it is !!)
As we walk out of the lift we are greeted by a very 'healthy' looking dining room ... Clean lines, neutral linens, wood and even a hedge of wheat grass.
Breakfast at GLOW includes a choice of a wide range of herbal teas, a choice of freshly squeezed juice, one fruit or yoghurt choice and one main. I start with the COMO ginger, honey and lemon tea.
Kim has a herbal infusion.
We both choose the liver cleanser, a super healthy juice that's full of lemon, lime, carrot, ginger, apple and loads of other good stuff!
I have chosen the vanilla yoghurt with berries and crunchy muesli bites. The yoghurt is so creamy with the crunch of vanilla beans throughout, with a rich berry compote and shards of raw muesli bites. Divine!
Kim decides on the tropical fruit salad. It's full of banana, passionfruit, mango and pineapple that is suspended in a delicious orange juice / syrup.
The avocado tomato toast was always a favorite of mine at Parrot Cay, and this was a fine example. Thick cut toast topped with fresh rocket leaves, and slices of tomato and avocado sitting like soldiers nestled on top, with precision julienned parsley, a good squeeze of lemon juice, extra virgin olive oil, sea salt and a good crack of pepper. Such a satisfying breakfast.
Kim chooses another one that did catch my eye, so I was glad to be able to try a bit. Smoked salmon, ricotta, zucchini, lemon and dill. The salmon sliced, ribbons of zucchini and paper thin slices of lemon are all delicately draped around each other, with little dill trips and ricotta perched on top.
Indeed a fresh and vibrant start to the day, oh how we love the Met. (See you back at Cyan for lunch in a jiffy)
